Marketing & Event Management Internship

Overview

Leaf Institute of Art & Vocation is a recently launched non-profit based in the Village of West Greenville. We offer art education, classes and workshops focused on faith & work integration, and community events to Upstate South Carolina. Leaf Institute is a Christian faith-based organization that is welcoming to attendees and students of all beliefs and backgrounds. Throughout 2019, we will be offering a full calendar of workshops, classes and events. Leaf Institute seeks several proactive, driven individuals to serve as marketing and event management interns during this season of growth.


Role Responsibilities

Event hosting. Being present at a welcome table for some classes and events to assist checking in attendees and answering questions. Setting up chairs, food and AV technology in advance of events.

Coffee & snack ordering and delivery. Contact coffee shops and caterers to order in advance of some events and classes.

AV / Tech assisting. Help speakers with presentation setup and execution. May occasionally be asked to run a simple mixing board for some larger events.

Building landing pages in Squarespace for upcoming events. We will train each intern to set up simple event websites on our Squarespace platform, along with ticketing through Plasso and Eventbrite.

Poster & social media graphic design. Within the brand look established by Leaf, design marketing materials for upcoming events and classes.

Email blast design and marketing. We will train interns to put together email blasts in Mailchimp to promote upcoming events or provide already-registered attendees with information.

Social media management (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Post regularly across all major social media platforms, as well as manage incoming messages, comments and questions.

Customer Support via Zendesk. Manage incoming email contacts and customer questions regarding upcoming events, ticket sales and general messages.

Cleaning and general upkeep of our space. Sweeping, taking out the trash, washing windows, watering plants, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom several times per week.

Compensation

This is an unpaid position. Interns receive full access to all of our classes or events, whether working during the event or not. Interns may work on a laptop in our common space at any time events, meetings and classes are not taking place.

Experience

Most likely a current or recent college student. Ideally majoring in or with a career focus in the arts, design, business, marketing & communications, or non-profit space. A self-starter with proven initiative and personal drive. Embodies the vision of Leaf Institute.
